Cristian Orrú

Italian Bass player class 1971, began playing 14 years earlier as a drummer, then after listening to Birdland's Weather Report song where the electric bass sounded the great Jaco Pastorius falls in love with the electric bass.

At the end of the 1980s he moved his first steps to
self-taught bass, playing in several Sardinian bands,
first with Gimnasyum, then in trio with Drummer
Stefano M. and Guitarist Mauro D. with whom he won the Sarcidano Rock event. Later he played for Sarde's Bands and squares with the Zero40, the Alta Quota with which he also won a regional contest.

Over the years he attended private courses with Master Federico Vassallo, with whom he began to study Jazz music.
In 2006 he attended the well-known Jazz seminar at Sant'Anna Arresi whit Dan Anderssen, and the Masterclass of Saxophonist Steve Coleman.

In 2012 he joined the Isili Music Academy where he started studying harmony and solfeggio and theory with master Gianluca Podda, technique on instrument and recording with master Stefano Casti, music b business and music history and with master Enrico Atzeni.
In 2015 he gets the Btec Level 3 Diploma with the highest marks!
Over the years from 2012 to 2015 beyond studying continued his musician activity!
In 2014 he passed the prestigious Grade 6 of POP and Rock level 3 at Trinity College London at the Parma Music Academy with the highest marks.
In 2013-2014 he studied London at The Institute Music College, playing at the masterclass

with the likes of Skunk Anansie and Amy Winehouse's Historical Band.

2015 at Isili's MAN he played at Masterclass of American Guitarist Master Mike Stern.
